ABOUT OUR COMPANY
We met in Travel College back in 2000 were there was the morning and afternoon classes, and because I (Bill) was an early riser chose the morning classes. When Maria registered, she selected the afternoon classes, however, for some unkown reason to her at the time, she changed her mind and went with the morning program as well, and is where we officially met and the rest was history!
After graduating in 2001 we stayed in close contact with each other while venturing on two different travel career paths. Maria worked for a Winnipeg based corporate travel company, while Bill went to work for a retail vacation agency.
Over time we became much closer and fast forward we got married in 2004! We had a destination wedding that took place in Varadero, Cuba at an all-inclusive resort, and it couldn’t have been more perfectly suited for us as up-and-coming travel agents and future specialists in Destination Wedding Groups.
Shortly after we were married, we ventured off to British Columbia to continue their travel careers. In Vancouver Maria worked for Uniglobe, a retail travel agency, and I was transferred through my existing Winnipeg agency to work for First Choice American Express as the new Business Development Manager, and to eventually open up their brand new Cruise Reservation department.
However, in 2007 we decided to move back to Winnipeg to start our own independent travel company and immediately registered their Manitoba business name as Bill & Maria’s – The Traveling Agent as it just fit our personalities and future vision. We are now known as the “The Traveling Agent“, and to make things simpler, we shortened our name to TTAgent. Much easier to remember when we talk to new people that are looking for information about us.
Becoming an independent travel company allowed the both of us to do what we love the most. Provide our valued clients the time and service you deserve when planning your destination wedding, group vacation, or any other travel that needs our full attention. Being independent provides us more flexibility and that was important tou us, as we knew each and every client we dealt with was extremely busy and we know your time is valuable to you.
What is important to know about us is that we never wanted to ever treat anyone we dealt with like a number, and it is our mission to make sure you felt you were completely taken care of as if you were our only dedicated clients.
We love what we do, and it truly shows when we eventually sit down with you and start planning your special event or vacation. Our goal is to establish a long-term travel business relationship with you, because we strongly believe that nothing is more rewarding than helping you find that perfect getaway that you so deserve.
